Woman throws sons onto platform, then jumps off ‘wrong’ train, saved by cop

A woman threw her two children onto the platform then jumped off a moving train in Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday after realizing she had gotten on the wrong train, a video of the incident going viral on the networks social soon after.

The woman, who slipped near the compartment door after jumping and risked falling in the gap between the train and the platform, was rescued by Railway Police Constable Mukesh Kushwaha, who will be rewarded for his quick thinking, an official said.

“I gave a reward of 500 rupees at my disposal to the police officer instantly. I asked GRP Inspector Radheyshyam Mahajan to write a letter of recommendation for a reward for Kushwaha,” PTI told GRP Police Superintendent Nivedita Gupta.

“A man, his wife and two children had come to the railway station around 6.30am to board a train bound for Sehore. The woman got on the Jaipur-Nagpur train by mistake. She threw her four-year-old sons and six years on the dock and then jumped off the moving train,” Inspector Mahajan said.

She slipped near the coach door but GRP officer Kushwaha managed to get her to safety, he added.
