Skateboarding legend Andrew Reynolds has teamed up with lVans to create a new collection of classic sneakers reimagined. The collection includes must-have silhouettes like the Skate Half Cab 92, the Skate Sk8-Hi and the Skate Old-Skool.
Reynolds is one of the most influential skateboarders of all time, and this partnership with Vans seeks to marry his personal aesthetic with the structured classics of iconic Vans styles.
The shoes feature modified uppers that feature redesigned patterns and a new shape for better heel fit. Versatile styles have a Duracap underlay, which adds flexibility and removes excess bulk to eliminate hot spots. There is a two piece fox in each pair which includes Sick Stick, a new proprietary gum rubber compound, to increase the durability and longevity of the shoe. They also feature PopCush energy return soles to give the legs the stamina needed to skate longer.
The first shoe to debut in the collection is the Skate Half Cab 92, which comes in a golden brown suede and incorporates chunky canvas and a classic black tongue. The Old Skool Skate is in navy suede with a gold brown leather side stripe and denim inspired stitching. While the Skate Sk8-Hi features navy suede overlays over golden brown quarter panels with contrasting white stitching. All shoes feature the red checkered flag on the tongue, classic black freckles, and a 90s-inspired grunge-inspired plaid footbed.
The Vans Skate Classics Andrew Reynold collection will be available online at Vans.com and at Vans outlets on September 1.
