Herschel Walker, the Republican candidate for Georgia’s Senate, takes on incumbent Democratic Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock in one of the most heated campaigns in this year’s midterm elections. The race could ultimately decide which political party controls the Senate in January.
The last ballot shows a statistical equality between the two candidates. This is after two women accused pro-life Walker of funding their abortions. The second accuser even appeared on camera with hello america.
Walker, for his part, denied the allegations. Former President Donald Trump recently absolved Walker of the scandal at a rally.
Unsurprisingly, both sides of the political spectrum are funneling hundreds of millions of dollars into the pivotal race. The Wall Street Journal revealed that exact number on Sunday.
Walker and Warnock’s run eclipsed $241 million in total spending. This number continues to increase with days before the elections. Warnock spent $72 million on advertising alone, more than any candidate this year. The Senate Leadership Fund, the GOP political action committee orchestrated by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky), has spent more than $40 million on ads for Walker’s campaign.
The Log also gave this remarkable statistic: the total amount spent on the race is equivalent to spending $30.83 for each of Georgia’s 7.8 million voters.
The 2022 midterm elections are scheduled for November 8.
