In addition to the PEO scholarship, Taylor received a WUE scholarship from MSU. She is open to the idea of work-study programs and is seeking additional financial assistance to avoid student debt.

Taylor started the Wreaths Across America program in Lander. This national non-profit organization honors fallen veterans each December by placing living wreaths on each of the fallen heroes’ headstones. Taylor introduced this project to her community when she was 15 years old. She was named the site’s official coordinator and spent 300 hours fundraising, as well as filling out the paperwork to complete the task. She personally counted more than 800 veterans buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, which meant she had to raise $15,000 to ensure that every veteran was honored with a wreath. After the first year, Taylor raised enough money to move on to the next year. She was most touched seeing the event unfold at Arlington National Cemetery, realizing that it does not favor any politics, religion or position on the social ladder. The main purpose is to honor fallen veterans for the sacrifices they have made for our country.

How proud Lander PEO BB Chapter is to award this scholarship to Taylor Romans. It is an honor for us to recognize such an outstanding young woman who will undoubtedly continue to bring recognition, pride and service to her community.
