A huge collection of images has been rescued from a dumpster in Coventry – and we need your help identifying the people and places featured. We need your comments below to help us identify the who, what, where and when of this fantastic collection.
They belonged to former Coventry Telegraph photographer Arthur Cooper, who took his negatives home. When he died, these photos nearly ended up in the landfill, but were saved and digitized by Reach’s fantastic team of archivists.
These photos show life in and around Coventry and Warwickshire, but no further information has come with the images. So now we turn to you for help.

Below is a sample of just 20 of the thousands of images we were able to save. Some have been damaged over time and exposure to the elements, but you can still make out most of the shots.
They show a whole range of people, events and places. Everything from beautiful weddings of long ago, huge gatherings of people at speeches and sports teams that might have been heroes in the past.
If you spot any details that might help, comment below with the photo number (1 of 20, etc.) and anything you can tell us about the people, places, and times. It would be a shame if these photos were forgotten again!
