What there is to know
- Facebook on a desktop browser: Menu > Checked in.
- In the Facebook app for iOS or Android: Menu > Checked in.
This article will show you how to find your saved Facebook posts. Facebook occasionally changes its interface, so the method may be different from the one you used last time.
Where to find saved Facebook posts
You can directly enter https://www.facebook.com/saved/ in the address bar to view your saved messages. Otherwise, follow these steps to navigate the Facebook menu on desktop and mobile.
Facebook messages saved in the mobile application
Viewing saved Facebook posts on the mobile apps for iOS and Android takes a few clicks.
Specific steps may differ depending on an iOS or Android phone, but the basic process will be the same. Instructions and illustrations are from the Facebook app for iOS.
Select Menu (the hamburger icon) to the right of the toolbar.
Select Checked in to open all messages, photos, and videos you’ve marked for later.
Recorded messages are listed in chronological order, with the most recent in the foreground. Select See everything to view all saved messages, or go to your collections.
Tap the post to open it. You can also select the three-dot icon to the right of each post and choose View original post from the menu.
Search Facebook for your saved messages
You can quickly access saved messages with desktop search and mobile apps. Follow these steps.
Enter a keyword like “saved” into the Facebook search box (on the desktop mobile app).
Choose an auto-suggested search result like “posts saved by me” to arrive at the Saved page with all your saved posts.
Facebook posts recorded on the website
Launch a browser and go to the Facebook site. The Saved icon looks like a bookmark and contains posts, photos, and videos you’ve saved for later.
Select Menu in the left sidebar.
Scroll down the menu to the Personal category and select Checked in. The Checked in the bookmark icon will also be visible under Recent if you recently accessed the Registered page.
Select Checked in to open the page with all your saved items and collections.
Tap the post to open it. You can also select the three-dot icon to the right of each post and choose Cancel registration to remove it from the list. Also, use the Filtered to sort saved items by post type.
Select the Equipment icon to the left of the Saved page. The Reminder settings can help you keep control of your saved items and avoid filing too much.
How can I find my saved Facebook post drafts?
Facebook does not save multiple drafts in one place. However, if you save a post as a draft rather than publishing or deleting it, Facebook will automatically retrieve it for you when you attempt to create a new post. However, drafted posts will not pass between the Facebook app and the website.
How do I post something I’ve already saved on Facebook?
Once you locate the saved message, select the To share then choose your sharing settings to post it to your own feed.
Can I download and store my saved Facebook posts?
Yes, you can download saved Facebook messages. You’ll need to download a copy of your Facebook data (this will automatically include saved posts). Saved messages can be found under “Saved Items and Collection” from the “Access your information” or “Download your information” options.
