COD Warzone ‘Account Verification’ error, Battle.net code not received

COD: Warzone is the battle royale alternative to the hit Call of Duty franchise. The game arrived in 2020 and is available on many consoles and platforms.

However, currently, many players have started receiving an SMS requesting verification of their accounts. But it becomes a problem for many because it requires a phone number and they don’t receive the SMS (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, ten).

According to multiple reports, many COD: Warzone players are suddenly getting an “account verification” prompt, for no apparent reason.

For account verification, the player must receive a verification SMS to the phone number he registered on the Battle.net platform.

However, many players are unable to complete the verification because they do not receive the verification code via SMS.

Unfortunately, the problem is not connecting to battlenet. Changing browsers does not help. I’m just trying to get an SMS code sent to my phone for this security check. Do you have any idea how long we have to wait before we can try again?

In some cases, the issue occurs because players no longer have access to the phone number they used to sign up for Battle.net many years ago.

@Blizzard_Ent my son can’t access warzone because he changed his phone number and he asks to verify his account with an sms to the old number, won’t let him change or delete the number or even create a new one ticket because it again asks to verify with an sms to the OLD number. To help.

The glitch in question appears to only affect COD Warzone, as it is reportedly not present on COD Vanguard.

Also, in some cases, players manage to get the Battle.net verification SMS, but the problem reappears later.

I was asked to check earlier. Would not send me code. I went into my account and disabled text messages, then turned them back on and got a text message. Signed for maybe 3 hours. Trying to come back now with the same problem.

A workaround that would have helped

That said, there is a potential workaround that might help you if you encounter the problem. Basically, it is recommended to contact the Blizzard support team directly to remove the phone number associated with your account.

I had the same issue and got a reply that there is a problem with it not sending codes at the moment. If you don’t have the old number you can create a ticket on the support page and if you prove the account is yours they can remove the number.

-Head toward Blizzard Support Page and log in
-If you don’t have your old phone number yet, click on “Contact us”
-Either use a passcode or click “Submit ticket with ID image”
-Upload a clear image of your government-issued ID (you can check what Blizzard will accept here)
-Wait for Blizzard to respond

Meanwhile, Blizzard’s support team has confirmed that they are already aware of the issue in question. However, there is no ETA for a fix yet.
